Double Key Encryption (DKE) ensures two-tier security for the most sensitive data in Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365. In partnership with Microsoft Purview, Double Key Encryption works by using two keys for cloud data protection: One key is stored inside the tamper-proof Hardware Security Module, while another key is hosted in Azure. Even if the cloud key is compromised, data remains secure, as decryption requires access to both keys, ensuring full data sovereignty and robust data protection.
